Connect Fly.io MCP to Claude Desktop
Create your Vinkius account to connect Fly.io to Claude Desktop and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Control edge compute from Claude Desktop
This Fly.io MCP Server lets Claude Desktop manage your active Fly Machines on the fly. You ask the chat to scale up, and Claude fires off `create_machine` to spin up a new Firecracker VM in a chosen region. When traffic drops, you tell the chat to clean up, triggering `delete_machine` to instantly drop the Fly Machine and stop the billing clock. There is no need to jump back and forth to your terminal or log into the Fly dashboard to verify state. Claude reads the live setup using `list_machines` and displays exactly what is running, giving you instant infrastructure control right beside your Claude Desktop window.
Run remote diagnostics inside Claude Desktop
The `exec_machine` tool allows Claude Desktop to run shell commands inside your active Fly.io containers. Instead of manually SSHing into a failing instance, you ask Claude to check the process list or run database migrations. Your agent executes the command directly inside the Fly Machine and returns the exact stdout to your Claude Desktop chat window. You can pair this with `get_machine` to inspect the exact Docker image digest currently loaded into RAM. If a deployment gets stuck, Claude spots the mismatch and helps you debug the Fly.io container state without leaving the desktop app.
Manage persistent edge storage via Claude Desktop
The `list_volumes` tool gives Claude Desktop the ability to inspect NVMe storage drives attached to your Fly.io database apps. When configuring stateful apps like PostgreSQL or SQLite, your Claude Desktop agent checks these volumes to ensure data persists across Fly Machine restarts. If a volume is running out of space, you command Claude to inspect the app state via `get_app` to find the internal Wireguard range. This ensures your Fly.io storage configuration matches your network routing before you run any scaling actions inside Claude Desktop.
