Connect Freesound MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Freesound to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Pull real audio assets directly into your Cursor workspace
Stop writing mock audio paths in your Cursor project. This MCP Server lets your Cursor agent use `download_sound` to grab actual high-quality Freesound files and place them straight into your active workspace directories. This means you build features with real Freesound assets inside Cursor from day one. You don't have to guess if your playback engine handles the sample rate because Cursor uses `get_sound` to fetch the exact technical specifications of the Freesound file.
Run Freesound queries inside Cursor in Agent mode
Need a specific wind noise or laser blast for your Cursor code? Ask your agent to search the Freesound database using `search_sounds` to locate files matching your exact parameter requirements. Cursor parses the returns and writes the correct Freesound asset URLs or IDs directly into your active files. By integrating this MCP Server, your Cursor coding flow remains unbroken by manual Freesound browser searches.
Upload and describe audio assets from your code editor
If you build audio tools in Cursor, you can manage your Freesound uploads directly. The `upload_sound` tool lets Cursor push newly generated or edited files straight to Freesound. Your Cursor agent can then run `describe_sound` to tag and document the Freesound asset. This keeps your remote Freesound library synchronized with your local Cursor development folder without manual web forms.
