Open Claude Settings

Go to claude.ai, click your profile icon, then navigate to Customize → Connectors.

Add Custom Connector

Click the "+" button and select Add custom connector. Paste your Vinkius endpoint URL: https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. For OAuth-protected servers, expand Advanced settings to add credentials.

Open Claude Desktop Settings

Click the menu icon at the top-left corner, go to Settings → Developer → Edit Config. This opens claude_desktop_config.json in your default text editor.

Paste the FreshBooks MCP configuration

Copy the JSON snippet on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

Restart Claude Desktop

Close and reopen the application. Claude needs a full restart to load new MCPs — refreshing a conversation is not enough.

Open a new conversation. Click the 🔌 icon at the bottom of the message input. You should see tools listed under freshbooks-mcp.

Yes, it can assemble draft text based on your actual records. The agent runs `list_time_entries` and `list_active_projects` to gather billable hours, then formats the line items for you. You still control the final send button in your dashboard.

It retrieves whatever tax configurations are already saved on your records. When the agent calls `get_invoice_details`, it pulls the exact tax calculations applied to that invoice. It does not calculate or modify tax rates on its own.

You need an active subscription to both platforms. Vinkius hosts the connection, so you only need to plug in your single endpoint token to authorize the agent.
