How to Use the GDACS MCP in Cursor
Let your agent write code with live GDACS disaster data directly inside the Cursor editor.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect GDACS MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect GDACS to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Generate Code with Real-Time Data
Stop writing functions with placeholder data. With the GDACS server, your agent can use tools like `get_latest_cyclones` to fetch active storm data and inject it directly into the code it generates for you. Ask it to 'write a python script to parse the latest cyclone tracks.' The agent will call `get_latest_cyclones`, get a real response, and write code that correctly handles the actual data structure. It just works.
Build Live Monitors in Cursor
Use Cursor as an IDE for building real-time monitoring tools. Your agent can query `get_alerts` to check for new high-impact events or use `get_latest_earthquakes` to poll for seismic activity above a certain magnitude. This MCP Server connection makes it easy to prototype data-driven applications. You can build a script that checks for new 'red' alerts every five minutes and logs them, all without leaving your editor or juggling API keys.
Spatially Aware Code Generation
Build mapping and logistics applications with accurate geographic context. The `get_event_geojson` tool provides the exact boundaries of a disaster area. Your agent can use this to write code that interacts with mapping libraries. For example, ask your agent to 'generate a javascript function that checks if a lat/lon point is inside the latest flood zone.' It will use `get_event_geojson` to create a working point-in-polygon function based on live data.
