Team-Wide Google Forms Schema Integration

The `get_form_metadata` tool enables VS Code Copilot to read live Google Forms layouts and question configurations directly inside your workspace. By committing this configuration to your repo, your entire team can inspect Google Forms schemas via VS Code Copilot without leaving the editor. VS Code Copilot uses these live Google Forms definitions to write accurate parsing functions and verify that your backend endpoints match the active form fields. This eliminates manual coordination errors between your Google Forms and engineering databases inside VS Code Copilot.

Run Tests Against Live Google Forms Datasets

The `get_form_responses` tool retrieves active submission records from Google Forms directly into your VS Code Copilot chat. Developers can instantly generate test fixtures, mock payloads, and assertion blocks inside VS Code Copilot using real-world Google Forms answers. This MCP Server connection lets VS Code Copilot analyze actual response patterns to suggest better error handling and edge-case coverage in your codebase. You build more reliable Google Forms data pipelines inside VS Code Copilot by writing code against true production data.

Automate Google Forms Data Mapping

Using `get_form_metadata` with VS Code Copilot simplifies the task of mapping Google Forms submissions to external SQL databases. The VS Code Copilot agent reads the Google Forms field types and suggests the exact SQL schemas and ORM models needed to store the incoming data. This workflow reduces manual data modeling time inside VS Code Copilot, allowing developers to generate Google Forms migrations and seeding scripts with a single slash command.

Setup guide

Set up Google Forms MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the Google Forms MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the Google Forms tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent Google Forms transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.

Common questions about Google Forms MCP in VS Code Copilot

Create a `.vscode/mcp.json` file in your repository root and add the Google Forms server details. When team members open the project in VS Code, Copilot automatically loads the tools for everyone.
No, this MCP Server does not support webhook triggers. You must prompt VS Code Copilot to execute `get_form_responses` manually to pull the latest batch of submission data.
Access is controlled via the Vinkius platform, which issues a secure token. You configure this token in your VS Code Copilot settings, ensuring only authorized developers can query the form metadata.
Yes, as long as your Vinkius-managed server has the correct Google OAuth permissions, it can access both public and restricted corporate forms.
Your Google Forms metadata and response data are handled in transient memory during active Copilot sessions. Vinkius runs the connection in an ephemeral sandbox, ensuring no form answers or structural details are written to persistent storage.
