…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect GovInfo MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect GovInfo to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Direct file-based document retrieval
Cline uses `search_documents` to locate government records and immediately writes the findings into your project. It acts as an extension of your research workflow. If you need deeper insight, the agent calls `get_package_summary` to grab essential metadata. This ensures the files Cline creates are populated with verified facts.
Automated granule extraction
You tell Cline to pull specific data, and it executes `list_package_granules` to find the exact sub-documents needed. It avoids the clutter of full archives. After finding the right granule, the tool uses `get_granule_summary` to provide a clear digest. Cline then incorporates this summary into your documentation or code comments.
Linked record management
Cline manages connections between files by using `get_related_documents`. When you update a project, the agent fetches the necessary supporting records to maintain accuracy. It also uses `get_collection` to browse specific date ranges for historical data. Cline keeps your codebase aligned with the latest official standards.
