Connect Healthchecks.io MCP to CrewAI
Create your Vinkius account to connect Healthchecks.io to CrewAI and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
CrewAI Incident Response with MCP Server
The `list_checks` tool allows a specialized SRE agent to scan your entire project for failing background jobs. When a failure is found, the agent passes the check UUID to a diagnostic agent in the crew. This diagnostic agent then calls `list_pings` to analyze the history of recent runs. By collaborating in a shared memory space, the crew determines whether the failure is a one-off fluke or a systemic issue.
Automated Incident Escalation
The `list_integrations` tool identifies active communication channels like Webhooks, Discord, or Email. Your escalation agent uses this list retrieved via the MCP Server to notify the correct engineering team based on the severity of the failing check. While waiting for a human response, a moderator agent uses `list_flips` to track how long the service has been unstable. If the flip history shows constant flapping, the crew escalates the ticket to a high-priority queue.
Dynamic Monitor Auditing and Cleanup
The `delete_check` tool removes old, unused monitors that clutter your dashboard. An auditor agent runs weekly, comparing active servers against the list returned by `list_checks`. If the agent finds a monitor that hasn't received a ping in months, it issues a warning and then calls `delete_check` to clean it up. This keeps your dashboard clean and prevents alert fatigue from legacy systems.
Set up Healthchecks.io MCP in CrewAI
Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+ installed
-
crewaipackage (pip install crewai) - Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Install CrewAI
Run
pip install crewaito install the framework. MCP support is built-in via themcpsparameter. - 2
Add the MCP URL to your agent
Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the
mcpslist. Replace[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically. - 3
Kick off your crew
Create a
Crewwith your agent and tasks. Callcrew.kickoff()— the agent will automatically invoke Healthchecks.io tools as needed.
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew
agent = Agent(
role="Healthchecks.io Analyst",
goal="Access and analyze Healthchecks.io data via MCP.",
backstory="Expert analyst with direct Healthchecks.io access.",
mcps=[
"https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
],
)
task = Task(
description="List recent Healthchecks.io transactions",
agent=agent,
expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)
crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result) Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+ installed
-
crewai+crewai-toolspackages - Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Install dependencies
Run
pip install crewai crewai-tools. TheMCPServerAdapterhandles lifecycle management and tool conversion. - 2
Connect with MCPServerAdapter
Use
MCPServerAdapteras a context manager withSseServerParameterspointing to your Vinkius endpoint. The adapter automatically manages connection lifecycle. - 3
Assign tools and run
Pass the returned
mcp_toolsto your agent'stoolsparameter. The adapter converts MCP tools to nativeBaseToolobjects compatible with all CrewAI agents.
