…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Home Assistant MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Home Assistant to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Build automations with live MCP Server data
`list_entity_states` gives Cursor exact entity IDs and current attributes while you write code. Your MCP server pulls real device names from your network instead of hallucinating placeholder variables. You write Python scripts or AppDaemon apps using the actual data structures your instance generates. `call_ha_service` tests the climate.set_temperature command immediately when you write a function to control the HVAC. Testing service payloads happens inside the IDE. The AI agent verifies the JSON structure against your live setup before you commit a single line.
Debug templates and configuration files
`render_ha_template` executes Jinja2 logic directly against your live database. You highlight a block of template code in your editor, and the agent processes it to show you the exact output. This catches syntax errors and missing variables before you restart the core service. `check_ha_configuration` runs the native validation check on your YAML files. Validating your changes takes one command. If there is a syntax error in your configuration file, the agent reads the error and fixes the indentation right in your workspace.
Inspect component and event structures
`list_ha_components` pulls every loaded integration currently active on your network. Your AI client checks this list to ensure required dependencies exist before writing new automation logic. It prevents you from writing code for integrations that failed to load. `list_ha_events` dumps the registered event types, while `fire_ha_event` lets you simulate triggers. Event-driven programming requires knowing the exact trigger names. You test your custom event listeners by firing payloads from the editor and watching your code respond.
