How to Use the KanbanTool MCP in Cursor

Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect KanbanTool MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect KanbanTool to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Pull KanbanTool context into Cursor
Live requirements feed straight into your editor via the `get_task_details` tool while you write code. Your AI client reads the card description, grabs the acceptance criteria, and uses that text to generate the initial boilerplate for your feature. It doesn't guess what you need to build. You stop switching windows because the `list_task_activities` tool grabs recent comments from your product manager. The agent adjusts the code logic based on those latest updates. You stay in your flow state while the editor manages the context.
Manage tickets from your codebase
Agent mode generates bug tickets the moment it spots an error by calling the `create_task_card` tool. It grabs the stack trace from your terminal and posts it directly to your triage board. You never lose track of a failing test again. Changing a card status without leaving the IDE happens through the `update_task_details` tool. You commit the code, tell your agent to move the ticket to the completed column, and keep working. The context switch vanishes.
Read project states via MCP Server
Sprint structures map out clearly when you invoke the `list_boards` and `get_board_details` tools. You ask Cursor to summarize the current workload, and it reads the active columns to tell you how many items are currently blocked. It turns your editor into a project dashboard. Public URLs for specific boards generate instantly using the `list_shared_links` tool. You drop those links into your documentation so external contractors know exactly where to check project status. It keeps everyone aligned without extra meetings.
