How to Use the Kentico (CMS & DXP) MCP in Cline
Tell Cline to build front-end features with your live Kentico data. It doesn't just fetch data—it writes the code and builds the components.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Kentico (CMS & DXP) MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Kentico (CMS & DXP) to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Build Components from Live Kentico Data
Give Cline a task like, 'Build a React component to display our latest blog posts'. Cline connects to your Kentico MCP Server and gets to work, turning your request into finished code. It will use `get_site_document` to fetch the content structure and data, then write the actual component file, including the API call, data mapping, and JSX. You get a working file, not just a JSON dump.
Script User and Object Management
Automate tedious Kentico admin tasks by having Cline write the scripts for you. Just describe the outcome you want. For example, 'Write a Node.js script to audit all system roles'. Cline will use tools like `list_system_objects` or `list_users` to understand the data, then generate a clean, executable script that performs the audit. It bridges the gap between your intent and the final code.
Interact with Kentico from your IDE
You can manage Kentico objects without leaving your editor. This MCP toolset lets you talk to your CMS in plain English, directly inside VS Code. Tell Cline, 'Find the user record for 'jane.doe@example.com' and show me her roles'. It uses `get_user` to find the data and presents it in a clear format. It's faster than context-switching to a browser and navigating a UI.
