Process massive Kintone record sets with Gemini

The `list_records` tool pulls raw data from your Kintone apps directly into the Gemini long-context window. Google ADK lets your agent ingest thousands of rows at once, meaning you can analyze entire tables without hitting token limits. Once the agent processes the data, it can write updates back using `update_records`. This setup is ideal for cleaning up legacy database entries or matching records against external cloud data.

Sync BigQuery data using the Kintone MCP Server

The `add_records` tool lets you push processed BigQuery datasets directly into Kintone via Google ADK. This bridges the gap between your Google Cloud data warehouse and your operational business apps. The agent automatically maps SQL query results to your Kintone app fields. You get a direct pipeline from cloud storage to your operational forms without writing ETL scripts.

Map complex Kintone space hierarchies

The `get_space_details` tool retrieves metadata about your collaboration spaces, including members and threads. Google ADK uses this structural data to help Gemini understand how your teams are organized. The agent can then use `list_apps` to identify which apps belong to which spaces. This gives your enterprise agents the context they need to navigate complex business departments.

Setup guide

Set up Kintone MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Kintone tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="Kintone_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to Kintone tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about Kintone MCP in Google ADK

Install the package via pip install google-adk. Define a McpToolset with your Vinkius HTTP URL and pass it to your LlmAgent to let Gemini call tools like list_records natively.
Yes, you can use the tool_names filter in the McpToolset constructor to limit access. For example, you can expose get_record while blocking destructive tools like delete_records.
Gemini uses its reasoning capabilities to translate nested JSON from Google Cloud into the flat record formats required by add_records. The ADK manages the transport, while the model handles the schema mapping.
Yes, Google ADK supports both transport methods. For production cloud deployments, we recommend using the Vinkius managed HTTP transport to connect your agents securely.
Your Kintone schemas retrieved via get_app_fields are processed in memory and never stored. Vinkius secures the connection with zero-trust architecture, passing only authenticated requests to the Kintone API.
