Audit Your Access Groups

This tool connects Claude to your Kisi access control system. You can ask your agent to run audits or check permissions without leaving the chat. Start by asking it to `list_access_groups` to see how permissions are currently structured across your organization. From there, you can dig deeper. Use `list_users` to get a full roster and cross-reference it with `list_role_assignments` to see who has access to what. It’s a straightforward way to spot permissions that need updating or find users who shouldn't be in a certain group.

Control Doors Remotely

Let a visitor in without getting up from your desk. First, find the right location with `list_places`, then get all the doors at that location with `list_locks`. Your AI client will show you the IDs for each one. Once you have the lock ID, just tell your agent to `unlock_door`. It's that simple. You can also pull maintenance info or check the status of a specific door anytime with `get_lock_details`. This is perfect for quick, one-off access needs.

Connect Claude to Your Building

The Kisi MCP Server is the bridge between Claude and your physical office security. It exposes nine specific tools your AI client can use to manage users, check permissions, and unlock doors on your behalf. There's no complex setup. You just talk to Claude like you normally would. Ask it, "Who's in the engineering access group?" or "Unlock the main entrance." Your agent uses the available tools like `list_users` or `unlock_door` to get the job done. Period.

Common questions about Kisi MCP in Claude Desktop

You can add the Kisi MCP Server from the Vinkius Marketplace with one click. If you're using claude.ai in the browser, you can also add the server's URL as a Custom Connector in your settings. Once connected, the tools are ready to use.
Yes. Just tell Claude, "Unlock the front door," or specify the lock ID if you know it. Your agent will use the `unlock_door` tool to open it. You can find lock IDs by first asking it to `list_locks`.
`list_places` shows you all your physical locations, like 'HQ Office' or 'SF Annex'. `list_locks` shows you every individual door within those places. You typically use `list_places` first to find the right building, then `list_locks` to find the specific door you need.
Access is tied to your Vinkius account and the underlying Kisi permissions. The MCP Server respects all of your existing security policies in Kisi. If you can't unlock a door through the Kisi app, you can't unlock it through your AI client either.
Your Kisi API key is stored securely by the Vinkius MCP Server, not by Claude. When you make a request, the server queries Kisi for data like user lists, place names, and lock details. This data is passed to your agent to answer your question and is subject to Claude's data retention policies.
