…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Library of Congress MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Library of Congress to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Direct archival fetching
Cline uses `get_collection_items` to pull lists of documents from specific historical sets. It populates your workspace with the results of your search queries instantly. You can then instruct the agent to use `get_item` to extract granular details for any specific entry in the list. It removes the need for manual browser navigation.
Granular data extraction
The `get_text_service` and `get_resource` tools give you surgical access to digitized files. Cline reads the OCR output and presents it as plain text in your editor. This allows you to write scripts that process large volumes of historical documents. The agent manages the connection, data retrieval, and formatting for you.
Image and map analysis
When you need visuals, Cline calls `get_image_info` to retrieve technical specifications and asset links. It handles the IIIF metadata so you don't have to parse complex JSON structures. Everything happens inside the sidebar. You get the data you need to build your project without ever leaving the VS Code environment.
