Trigger Broadcasts from Data Insights

The `create_broadcast` tool gives your Google ADK agent a direct line to your users. It can send alerts, announcements, or notifications through MagicBell's multi-channel system. The real power comes when you combine it with Google's ecosystem. Have your agent analyze a BigQuery table of user behavior, and if it finds a cohort that needs a specific message, it can immediately call `create_broadcast` to reach them.

Audit Notifications from the Command Line

The `list_broadcasts` and `get_broadcast` tools are for inspection and auditing. Your agent can pull a complete history of sent notifications to answer questions or check the status of a specific alert. This is perfect for DevOps workflows. You can build a simple CLI agent that uses `list_broadcasts` to monitor notification activity or pipe that data into a Google Sheet for reporting.

Integrate with Your Google Cloud MCP Server

This MCP Server connects your Google ADK agent to the MagicBell API. There's no complex integration work. You get three focused tools for managing broadcasts. Since Google ADK can use any MCP-compliant toolset, you just point it to the Vinkius server URL. Your agent is now ready to `create_broadcast` based on triggers from Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, or any other part of your GCP stack.

Setup guide

Set up MagicBell MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with MagicBell tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="MagicBell_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to MagicBell tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about MagicBell MCP in Google ADK

Absolutely. You can configure your agent to monitor the status of Vertex AI jobs. Once a job completes, the agent can call `create_broadcast` via this MCP server to send a notification.
You don't. The Vinkius MCP server stores your MagicBell API key securely. Your Google ADK agent uses a separate Vinkius token to talk to the server, so your core credentials are never exposed.
Yes, you can use MagicBell's sandbox environment. Just configure the MCP server with your sandbox API key. Your agent can then call `create_broadcast` and `list_broadcasts` against test data.
Use it to provide context to the agent. Before sending a new alert, the agent can call `list_broadcasts` to see if a similar notification was sent recently, preventing duplicate messages.
This server processes notification payloads, which can include user IDs and message text. Vinkius runs each server in an ephemeral, zero-trust sandbox. Your data is only in memory during the request and is never stored.
