Direct ledger audits from your terminal

The `get_balances` tool retrieves the real-time balance of any user or corporate account via this command line MCP tool. Claude Code runs this tool and pipes the JSON balance data directly into your local terminal scripts or log files. You don't need a heavy GUI to check account states. The terminal agent fetches the ledger data instantly, allowing you to debug funding issues during active development sessions.

Scripted transaction testing with Claude Code

The `simulate_authorization` tool lets you mock card swipes from a headless terminal session. Claude Code fires this tool, captures the transaction token, and immediately pipes it to `simulate_clearing` to complete the ledger update. This headless pipeline is perfect for CI/CD testing. You can script entire payment lifecycles, run them in your deployment pipeline, and assert that your backend processes the webhooks correctly.

Rapid user provisioning via terminal MCP Server

The `create_user` tool registers new cardholders instantly without leaving your shell. Claude Code executes this command, runs `perform_kyc` to clear identity checks, and returns the user token to your terminal output. Managing sandbox users becomes a matter of running a single command. The agent handles the payload formatting and outputs clean JSON that you can grep or redirect to local environment files.

Common questions about Marqeta MCP in Claude Code

Yes, you can manage webhooks entirely from the command line. Use the agent to run `create_webhook` to register your endpoint, and verify it instantly by calling `ping_webhook` to trigger a test payload.
You execute `create_card_transition` through the CLI. The agent updates the card status to active, suspended, or terminated, allowing you to test how your system reacts to stolen cards during terminal-based test runs.
The agent uses `create_program_funding_source` to establish your primary funding account. It then runs `create_gpa_order` to fund individual cardholder accounts, letting you script and test complex balance allocations directly from your shell.
Yes, you can reveal PINs securely. The agent runs `reveal_pin` using a control token generated by `create_pin_control_token`, displaying the PIN directly in your secure terminal session for debugging.
Sensitive cardholder details and PIN control tokens are never stored locally. This terminal MCP server runs operations like `update_pin` in an ephemeral container that destroys all session data immediately after execution.
