If that passes, it hands off to a provisioning agent that calls `create_card_product` and `provision_apple_pay`. Everything gets logged in your OpenAI dashboard.

Testing payment logic usually requires waiting on external processors. This MCP server lets your agent mock the entire transaction lifecycle. It can trigger `simulate_authorization` to check if a card has funds, then immediately run `simulate_clearing` to settle it. If something goes wrong, the agent can call `simulate_reversal`. Because the OpenAI Agents SDK traces every step, you can see exactly which simulated webhook failed and why the transaction was declined.

Manage Velocity and Funding Controls

Unrestricted spending breaks corporate card programs. Your agent can enforce limits dynamically by calling `create_velocity_control` and `create_auth_control`. You define the rules, and the agent applies them to specific card tokens. For funding, the agent manages the ledger. It checks `get_balances` and triggers `create_gpa_order` or `create_program_funding_source` when accounts run low. The SDK ensures the agent doesn't loop and over-fund the account.

Set up Marqeta MCP in OpenAI Agents SDK

Prerequisites

  • openai-agents package (pip install openai-agents)

    Use MCPServerSse with your Vinkius endpoint URL. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. The SDK auto-discovers all Marqeta tools at runtime.

    Pass the MCP to Agent(mcp_servers=[server]). The agent receives Marqeta tools as native definitions — JSON schemas resolve automatically.
