The Metaplane MCP server exposes data pipeline health to your chat interface so you can stop silent failures before they corrupt downstream dashboards. Start by calling `list_data_connections` to see every connected warehouse and database. Once you pinpoint the connection, use `list_connection_schemas` to check which tables are currently being tracked. Instead of jumping between browser tabs, you ask Claude Desktop to inspect the structural changes. It queries the active schemas and lists potential drift issues in plain English.

This integration uses `list_incidents` to pull active data quality failures directly into your workspace. When a pipeline breaks, you ask your agent to run `get_incident` to extract the exact failure root cause, whether it is a null constraint violation or a volume anomaly. Your agent reads the incident payload and matches it against recent database changes. You get a clear diagnosis of what broke and which downstream dashboards are affected without opening the Metaplane UI.

Run and track monitors on demand

Triggering a data quality check manually is simple with `trigger_monitor_run` when you need to verify a quick fix. You supply the monitor ID, and your agent schedules the test instantly. Follow up on the execution status by calling `get_monitor_runs` to watch the pipeline status clear. You can also view the historical trend of a specific rule with `get_monitor` to see if a table repeatedly breaches its limits.
