Multi-agent booking negotiation

Let your agents debate the best time to meet using the `get_slots` tool. One agent checks your constraints while another proposes times to the user. This prevents conflicts before they happen. The agents reach a consensus on the best slot before any booking is actually committed to your calendar.

Secure booking verification

Assign a security agent to check `get_booking` details before final confirmation. It flags anomalies or unauthorized requests before the `create_booking` call occurs. This adds a layer of scrutiny to every action. Your system doesn't just execute commands; it verifies them against your defined safety rules.

Autonomous scheduling loops

Configure an agent to handle rescheduling via `reschedule_booking` when a conflict arises. It communicates with the user and negotiates a new time automatically. This frees you from managing minor calendar updates. The agents handle the back-and-forth until the schedule is stable and confirmed.

Setup guide

Set up NeetoCal MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes NeetoCal tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="NeetoCal_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent NeetoCal data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about NeetoCal MCP in AutoGen

They can. You pass the tool list to your AssistantAgent, and the McpToolAdapter handles the schema so all agents can invoke them during their discussion.
They debate the scheduling options. One agent might propose a time, and the other uses `get_availability` to reject or accept it based on your current status.
It is. You use a standard HTTP transport to connect your agents to the Vinkius-managed server, ensuring reliable communication for every tool call.
You can restrict which agents have access to write-heavy tools like `cancel_booking`. Only the authorized decision-making agent gets the tool permissions.
The data is ephemeral. It exists only for the duration of the conversation and is never logged in the agent's long-term memory unless you specifically configure it that way.
