Autonomous cluster health checks

Cascade reads your infrastructure state by calling `list_spaces` and `list_room_nodes`. It identifies which nodes are reporting spikes without you clicking through dashboards. Once it finds a target, it uses `get_chart_data` to pull the specific metrics needed for your current task. It stops guessing and starts showing you the actual system load.

Real-time alert resolution

Your agent queries `list_space_alerts` to see what is currently failing across your entire environment. It correlates these failures against the host data retrieved via `get_agent_info`. This lets you fix bottlenecks before they escalate. Cascade chains these operations to build a clear picture of the incident in your active file context.

Deep metric exploration

You can ask the editor to find hidden performance issues by using `list_charts` to see what is available. It then pipes that data into your terminal for analysis. This gets you the raw numbers from `get_all_metrics` without leaving your IDE. Stop switching tabs and keep your hands on the code.

Setup guide

Set up Netdata MCP in Windsurf

Prerequisites

  • Windsurf IDE installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Click the Cascade assistant icon in the sidebar, then click the hammer icon (🔨) at the top of the panel. Select "Configure" to open ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

  2. 2

    Add the Netdata MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Refresh MCPs

Go back to the hammer icon (🔨) in Cascade and click "Refresh". Windsurf will detect the new server. No full restart is needed — the connection is hot-reloaded.

  4. 4

    Verify in Cascade

Start a new Cascade conversation and ask something like "Show my Netdata payment history." If connected, Cascade will call the Netdata tools directly. You will see a green dot next to the server name in the MCP panel.

Yes. Cascade can chain these tools to monitor your infrastructure while you work. It will alert you if the metrics from `get_alarms` indicate a problem.
It does. You can feed the output from `get_chart_data` directly into your active chat to help the agent understand why your service is lagging.
