How to Use the New Relic MCP in Cursor
Connect New Relic to Cursor to write code based on real-time production performance data.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect New Relic MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect New Relic to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Debug production code in Cursor
Agent mode lets you call `get_apm_summary` to see why your production code is failing. You get the error rates and response times injected into your context window. This removes the guesswork. You see the live performance of the code you are currently editing.
Query metrics directly into your editor
Write code that checks your production state using `run_nrql`. You can ask the AI to verify if a fix actually reduced the error rate. It brings the monitoring loop into your Cursor workflow. You spend less time checking dashboards and more time shipping code.
Browse service levels in Cursor
Use `list_service_levels` to see if your code changes impact your SLOs. You get immediate feedback on how your work affects the business metrics. It keeps you aware of your targets while you code. You never ship a change that breaks your service level agreements again.
