Connect Nhost MCP to VS Code Copilot
Create your Vinkius account to connect Nhost to VS Code Copilot and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Nhost Authentication Tools
The `signin_email_password` tool authenticates a user with an email and password right from your editor. Copilot reads the response and helps you write the exact frontend logic needed to handle the token. You skip the manual Postman checks. Keeping that session alive requires one command. The `refresh_token` tool generates a new JWT access token using a valid refresh token. Your agent verifies the expiration logic while you focus on the UI components.
Bucket Storage Operations
The `upload_file` tool uploads a file to a bucket and returns the metadata for the processed file. You point Copilot at a local directory, and it handles the entire multipart transfer. Fetching assets is entirely automated. The `get_file` tool downloads the complete file content, and it supports optional image transformation parameters. If you prefer temporary access, `get_file_presigned_url` retrieves a presigned URL.
Provisioning via MCP Server
The `signup_email_password` tool registers a new user account instantly. For teams building modern flows, `signin_passwordless_email` initiates passwordless authentication by sending a magic link to the target inbox. Modifying those accounts is straightforward. Use `change_email` with an elevated NHOST_JWT credential, or execute `delete_file` to clean up user uploads. The `signout` tool invalidates refresh tokens and ends the session when you finish.
