Automated Media Discovery via MCP Server
Need a full overview of a title? Just tell Windsurf the show name. The agent will automatically call `get_show` to pull core metadata, then use `get_show_seasons` and `get_show_episodes` in sequence. It stitches all that together without you having to prompt step by step. This workflow is perfect for building content discovery features into a local app. Windsurf handles the complex chain of calls, giving you one clean result set ready for display.
Analyzing User Watch Habits
You can build a personalized dashboard that tracks viewing patterns. By calling `get_watched` and combining it with `get_history`, the agent builds a timeline of user consumption. It’s useful for showing users 'What did you watch last month?' or figuring out what content they've saved to their `get_watchlist`. Windsurf figures out which tools need OAuth access and handles that automatically.
Finding Related Content Quickly
If a user loves 'The Mandalorian', you don't want them guessing what next. Use the agent to call `get_related_movies` or `get_related_shows`. The result gives titles, years, and ratings so your app can suggest the perfect follow-up. It’s way faster than building a manual search function. Windsurf plans the lookup based on user intent, making content recommendations feel native.
