Check Repository Health Status

Use `get_repository_details` to pull the status for any given repository. This tells you if a repo is healthy or if something broke on its default branch. You can also run `list_travis_repositories` to see every single repo configured in your account, giving you a quick overview of which projects need attention.

Manage and Trigger Builds

Need fresh test results? You'll use `trigger_new_build`, providing the necessary repo slug, git branch, and an optional message. This kicks off a build immediately. If you need to monitor what just ran, start with `get_build_details` for the full context. From there, you can drill down into specific jobs using `list_build_jobs`.

View Build History and Branches

Want to see if a feature branch passed testing? Run `list_repository_branches`. This lists all branches along with their latest build status, saving you manual checks. To review what happened last week, use `list_builds` which provides recent build executions for a specific repository slug.

Setup guide

Set up Travis CI MCP in Windsurf

Prerequisites

  • Windsurf IDE installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Click the Cascade assistant icon in the sidebar, then click the hammer icon (🔨) at the top of the panel. Select "Configure" to open ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

  2. 2

    Add the Travis CI MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Refresh MCPs

Go back to the hammer icon (🔨) in Cascade and click "Refresh". Windsurf will detect the new server. No full restart is needed — the connection is hot-reloaded.

  4. 4

    Verify in Cascade

Start a new Cascade conversation and ask something like "Show my Travis CI payment history." If connected, Cascade will call the Travis CI tools directly. You will see a green dot next to the server name in the MCP panel.

Common questions about Travis CI MCP in Windsurf

You can run `get_repository_details` to get the current status. If you want a full view, use `list_repository_branches`; it shows the latest build result for every branch configured in your Travis CI account.
Yes. You must first get the correct build ID using `get_build_details`. Then, you use the `restart_travis_build` tool, which kicks off a new attempt on that specific failed build.
Absolutely. The `list_travis_repositories` tool scans your account and delivers every repository configured in your Travis CI setup, letting you know what needs managing.
The `cancel_travis_build` action immediately stops the execution. Remember this is irreversible for the current run; it just cuts the power to that specific job.
You can confirm your identity using `get_user_profile`. This retrieves the authenticated Travis CI user profile details, confirming the scope of what you're allowed to manage.
