Extract Specific Post Details

The `get_post` tool retrieves the complete details for a single, specific post on Tumblr. This is key when you need to parse content or extract data points from one article. You tell Cline your goal—'Build a component showing posts about X'—and it uses this API call within its code generation process.

Programmatic Blog Post Listing

Use `list_blog_posts` to write functions that grab and iterate over all recent posts from a Tumblr blog. Cline writes the necessary loops and data structure imports for you. This capability lets you build modules that consistently pull content arrays, making your dashboard reliable.

Build Tag-Filtered Search Views

To find related articles, `list_tagged_posts` searches by tag. Cline uses this output to populate filtered views in your code, ensuring the data displayed is always relevant to a specific topic. This means you don't just get a list; you get the structured code needed to display that list effectively.

Common questions about Tumblr MCP in Cline

Just tell Cline what you want. For example: 'Build me a Python script that uses the MCP Server to get and parse the last 10 posts from a specific Tumblr blog.' Cline writes, executes, and shows the working code.
Yes. When you run `get_post`, Cline gets structured JSON output. It doesn't just print it; it uses that structure to build typed components in your project.
Totally. You can set the scope: 'Build a React component that displays posts found by searching for the tag 'AI' on Tumblr.' Cline handles the data fetching and UI wiring.
You write a function that iterates over several blog IDs, using `get_blog_info` for each. Because Cline is autonomous, it manages the sequence of calls and aggregates the results into one clean output.
It deals with post content metadata, which includes text strings for titles, body content snippets, and associated URL links. This is all treated as structured JSON data within your code.
