Connect Umbraco MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Umbraco to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Automating Full Content Workflows
The `update_cms_document` tool lets you write code that modifies Umbraco content. You pass the document ID and new JSON, and Cline writes the necessary logic to make those changes. It also gives you the means to create documents via `create_cms_document`. Write a script that builds out an entire section? Just use this tool.
Deep Content Inspection for Code
To read specific content, Cline uses `get_delivery_content_by_id` or `get_delivery_content_by_path`. You can write functions that fetch an item by GUID or by its clean URL path. Need to know what kinds of documents Umbraco supports? Use `list_document_types` to get the schema definitions, which you can then use in your code.
Managing Media and Assets Programmatically
You write functions that list media assets using `list_media_assets`, getting the details of every file. Cline also lets you browse drafts directly with `get_management_document`. This entire MCP Server allows your agent to treat Umbraco as a structured API endpoint, letting you build production-ready code around it.
