Connect USGS Water Services MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect USGS Water Services to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Write code to fetch and process site metadata.
Use `get_sites` when you need to programmatically find USGS sites. You can combine multiple filters like stateCd, huc, or countyCd into a single search query within your script. Cline executes this data retrieval, letting you immediately build the necessary component structure in your repository. It's write-test-commit ready.
Implement historical trend analysis.
`get_daily_values` gives you summarized daily metrics (mean, median, max, min). You can call this tool to generate a time series dataset. Cline writes the Python code needed to ingest and plot these statistics for your dashboard. It handles the data formatting automatically, so all you do is review the generated file diff.
Create components using real-time flow data.
Need near real-time water data? `get_instantaneous_values` pulls 15-minute intervals based on site IDs. You can use this in conjunction with `get_statistics` to compare current readings against annual averages. Cline writes the API call wrapper for you, imports the necessary library dependencies, and stages the full component commit.
