Coordinating comprehensive vineyard searches via the MCP Server

Set up a team where Agent A searches for vineyards using `search_vineyards`. Agent B then takes those IDs and calls `get_vineyard_details` to compile full reports. The shared memory ensures that every agent knows exactly which location data was found, building a complete picture without manual handoffs.

Deep dive into wine varietals with CrewAI's MCP Server

Need to audit all possible types? Assign Agent A the task of calling `list_wine_varietals`. Then, Agent B analyzes that full list against a database schema. This specialized role-based setup is clean. The entire operation runs autonomously; no one needs to prompt the system after the initial kickoff.

Retrieving wine records using VineRadar's `get_wine_details`

Agent C specializes in fetching specific data. You assign it the tool `get_wine_details`, passing a wine ID. It pulls all required information from the MCP Server. The resulting record is then passed to the monitor agent for final summarization, making the whole process transparent.

Setup guide

Set up VineRadar MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke VineRadar tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="VineRadar Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze VineRadar data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct VineRadar access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent VineRadar transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about VineRadar MCP in CrewAI

You give an agent the `search_wines` tool. The specialized agent executes this call, retrieves records by keyword or name, and passes that list to a second agent for analysis.
The server handles vineyard location details, wine varietal lists, and specific wine/vineyard records. The MCP Server allows agents access to all these domains.
Yes. A monitoring agent can be assigned `check_api_status`. It runs this tool first, confirming if the underlying MCP Server is healthy before any other agents start their work.
The system accesses vineyard IDs, location coordinates from `search_vineyards`, and full descriptive records via `get_vineyard_details`.
Yes. Use the `list_wine_varietals` tool to get a complete list of all supported types, which is perfect for an agent auditing system.
