Perform Version Control Operations

Need to push changes or pull the latest source files? The agent calls `perform_repository_operation` for all VCS tasks (push, pull, commit). It keeps your project's code base in sync with Weblate. This is critical when integrating localization into a CI/CD pipeline. You can also check the overall status using `get_project_repository`.

View and Create Projects

The agent starts by listing all available projects via `list_projects`. To work on one, it retrieves details with `get_project`. Need to start fresh? Use `create_project`. It also lets you drill down into the contents using `list_project_components`, making sure your new project structure is solid.

Manage Team Roles and Permissions

Setting up permissions is straightforward. You can create a specific role with `create_role` or assign it to an existing group using `add_group_roles`. The agent checks current access levels via `get_role` first. Want to see who belongs where? Use `list_groups` to get the full list of organizational units.

Setup guide

Set up Weblate MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with Weblate tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="Weblate_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to Weblate tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Yes. The tool supports calling `list_languages`, giving you a comprehensive inventory of every supported language definition within your Weblate instance.
The agent offers full CRUD capabilities. You can create users via `create_user` or view stats by calling `get_user_statistics`. It's robust enough for enterprise use.
