Centralized Job Management

The `list_jobs` tool lets every developer see a consistent list of active projects. This data is committed to the repo, so everyone sees the same thing. You can use `get_job` to pull all necessary details for a specific project ID. It's part of the team standard set up via this MCP Server.

Client and Contact Setup

Set up new clients using `create_client`, which accepts company or individual names. When you need to log a specific person, use `create_client_contact` with the client's UUID. This setup ensures all developers work off the same, accurate source of truth for who works where.

Time Tracking and Auditing

Need to record time? Run `create_timesheet` by providing a job UUID, task UUID, and hours. This writes directly into your project's data. Alternatively, you can use `list_tasks` to ensure the service unit IDs are correct before creating any timesheets.

Setup guide

Set up WorkflowMax MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the WorkflowMax MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the WorkflowMax tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent WorkflowMax transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.
