Manage the full lifecycle of any workflow

Use `list_workflows` to see every active automation you've built. If something goes wrong, check the status using `check_workload_status`, or tell Cascade to fix it with `retry_execution`. Windsurf handles the cleanup and monitoring so your agent can focus on the goal.

Build complex automations from scratch

Start a new process using `create_workflow` when you need automation. Once built, Cascade lets you refine it by modifying settings with `enable_workflow` or temporarily disabling it via `disable_workflow`. You don't have to manually prompt for every step; Windsurf figures out the whole chain.

Get deep insights into performance and errors

Need to know why a workflow failed? Use `list_logs` to pull all execution history. You can also check specific run details with `get_execution` or grab the overall plan using `get_workflow`. This gives your agent everything it needs for debugging.

Setup guide

Set up Workload MCP in Windsurf

Prerequisites

  • Windsurf IDE installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Click the Cascade assistant icon in the sidebar, then click the hammer icon (🔨) at the top of the panel. Select "Configure" to open ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

  2. 2

    Add the Workload MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Refresh MCPs

Go back to the hammer icon (🔨) in Cascade and click "Refresh". Windsurf will detect the new server. No full restart is needed — the connection is hot-reloaded.

  4. 4

    Verify in Cascade

Start a new Cascade conversation and ask something like "Show my Workload payment history." If connected, Cascade will call the Workload tools directly. You will see a green dot next to the server name in the MCP panel.

Common questions about Workload MCP in Windsurf

The Workload server manages the actual connections and automation logic. When you run a workflow, it executes steps across your connected apps. You'll see the status updates in the execution logs.
Absolutely. If an automated process fails, use `list_logs` to pull the full history and pinpoint the exact step that broke. You can then manually trigger a retry with `retry_execution`.
This MCP Server manages connection details, including credentials and endpoint information. It specifically deals with the setup of your connected applications.
Yes. The server lets you manage many connections using `list_connections`. Your agent can orchestrate actions across these various services, treating them as one continuous flow.
Use the `get_connection` tool. It verifies that the credentials and setup are current before Cascade attempts to use them in a new workflow run.
