Connect WorldNewsAPI MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect WorldNewsAPI to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Automating Article Extraction in Cline
`extract_news_from_url` lets you pull clean article content and metadata into your local project files. You can write a script that iterates over 50 URLs, extracts the data, and writes it all to a JSON record. This capability means you don't need manual copying; Cline executes the extraction tool and gives you structured output ready for immediate use in code.
Searching News Data with Cline
Use `search_world_news` to query articles by keyword or phrase directly within your build script. You can write a test that calls this tool and asserts the resulting data structure is correct. This turns news research into executable code, letting you programmatically validate whether specific topics appeared in the global feed.
Checking WorldNewsAPI Status via Cline
Before a CI/CD job starts pulling data, run `check_api_status`. This check confirms that the MCP Server is reachable and operational for your automated workflow. It’s a critical step in ensuring your whole pipeline doesn't fail because of a temporary service outage.
