Making Decisions with YesNo and MCP Server

Need a randomized input for a pipeline? Run `get_decision` via the command line. It spits out a yes, no, or maybe answer that you can pipe directly into subsequent commands. This is perfect for CI/CD testing where you need to simulate unpredictable outcomes.

Testing Logic with YesNo in Claude Code

You're building a cron job or a shell script, and you need to test how the logic handles uncertainty. `get_decision` provides that random input for robust testing. The result includes a fun GIF, which confirms the decision was made successfully.

Incorporating YesNo into Terminal Workflows

Use this tool to break ties in complex terminal workflows. Simply run `claude mcp add ...` and then call `get_decision` to inject a random choice where the script needs one. It’s an easy way to introduce variability without manual intervention.

Common questions about YesNo MCP in Claude Code

Yes. You can use `get_decision` in your pipeline scripts to simulate randomized failure or success conditions, ensuring your deployments are robust.
The server only generates random choice data (yes/no/maybe). It operates entirely in memory and doesn't access any persistent storage or network resources.
Definitely. Since the output is simple text, it pipes perfectly into other tools within a Docker container or GitHub Action run.
You add the server using `claude mcp add` and then reference the tool's function, `get_decision`, directly in your shell script.
Yes. The 'maybe' option is ideal for modeling real-world ambiguity when you can't guarantee a clear yes or no decision.
