How to Use the Zilliz Cloud MCP in Windsurf
Vector search and data management for your Windsurf autonomous workflows.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Zilliz Cloud MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect Zilliz Cloud to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Manage vector collections from a goal.
When you need to set up new data stores, the `create_collection` tool handles it. Just tell Cascade what kind of collection you need and it builds the structure so your agent can start working immediately. It also keeps things clean using `drop_collection`. If a test run fails or you change direction, dropping the old collection ensures your subsequent steps aren't running against stale data.
Run similarity searches with complex filters.
Need to find related documents? Use `search_vectors` for vector similarity search. You provide a JSON search configuration, and the agent executes it across your cluster. Furthermore, if you only want results matching specific criteria, `query_entities` lets you filter by metadata before running the main search. It's powerful stuff for refining outputs.
Monitor and load data stores dynamically.
Before querying anything, check what exists with `list_collections`. This shows your agent every collection available in the Zilliz cluster. If a specific collection is needed for a multi-step process, the agent can use `load_collection` to bring it into memory. It also knows how to clean up using `release_collection`, which keeps your workflow efficient.
