Key Capabilities
Map out device capabilities inside Cline
`get_device_info` pulls the exact list of variables and functions compiled into your device's firmware. Cline uses this schema to understand what your hardware can actually do before writing any control code. By reading this structure, the agent avoids sending invalid parameters to your hardware. It knows exactly which data types your firmware expects, reducing runtime errors during development.
Trigger hardware functions directly from VS Code
`call_function` sends execution commands to physical actuators like motors, lights, or valves connected to your microcontrollers. Testing hardware responses becomes easy when Cline triggers these functions directly from the sidebar. Confirming the action is straightforward because the agent reads the integer return code sent back from the device. This MCP Server provides immediate physical confirmation that your code successfully interacted with the real world.
Discover and organize your Particle IoT fleet
`get_devices` lists every microcontroller linked to your account along with its online status and connection history. Cline uses this list to let you select target hardware from a dropdown or text prompt. If you have unnamed hardware, the agent uses `rename_device` to apply clean naming conventions across your inventory. Organization happens automatically, keeping your development workspace clean without requiring you to open a web browser.
