Key Capabilities
Code with live asset data in Cursor
The `get_asset` tool pulls real-time metadata, file paths, and custom attributes for any Pics.io file in your library. When writing frontend code in Cursor, your agent fetches actual Pics.io asset data to populate your UI components instead of using hardcoded mock data. This changes how you build media-rich apps in Cursor. Your agent uses the returned Pics.io payload to map image URLs and descriptions directly into your active code templates.
Automation with Cursor and Pics.io
The `list_collections` tool retrieves your entire Pics.io folder structure to help you build dynamic navigation menus or sync local directories in Cursor. Your Cursor agent calls this tool to understand how your Pics.io assets are grouped before generating your API integration layer. You can combine this with `get_collection` in Cursor to inspect specific Pics.io folders. It ensures your Cursor code matches the live taxonomy of your Pics.io media library without manual verification.
Direct metadata syncing from the Cursor MCP Server
The `update_asset` tool writes metadata changes back to your Pics.io media library directly from your Cursor workspace. If you are refactoring asset tags in your Cursor codebase, your agent can push those updates to the Pics.io API in real time. This MCP Server bridges the gap between your Cursor code and your Pics.io media storage. It eliminates the need to write custom testing scripts just to verify your Pics.io metadata update payloads work.
