Key Capabilities
Code a Feature, Create the Test
You just finished writing a new API endpoint. Instead of context-switching to your browser, just tell Cline, 'Create a regression test for this endpoint in PractiTest.' Cline uses the `create_test` tool to add the new test case directly to your project. It can pull the description from your code's docstrings, so you stay focused in the editor where the work is happening.
Log Test Runs From Your Editor
After running local tests, you can tell Cline to update the official record in PractiTest. It finds the right test ID using `list_tests` based on your command. Then, it calls `create_run` to log the result—pass or fail. You never have to switch windows to update a test management tool again. This keeps your QA status perfectly in sync with your development reality.
Sync Your Cline MCP Server with QA
This PractiTest MCP Server gives Cline a direct line to your QA team's source of truth. Ask Cline to 'list all open requirements for the payment module,' and it uses `list_requirements` to fetch them right into your chat panel. You get immediate visibility into QA priorities without leaving VS Code. You can check project status with `get_project` or see recent activity with `list_runs` before you start coding your next feature.
