Key Capabilities

Multi-agent Prismic validation in AutoGen

This MCP Server lets your AutoGen agents pull and verify CMS content directly. You set up an editor agent and an SEO agent. The editor agent uses `list_documents_by_type` to pull recent blog posts. The SEO agent reviews those posts. If it notices missing metadata, it asks the editor agent to pull the exact schema using `list_custom_types` to see if the fields exist. They debate the structure and return a consensus report.

Cross-reference locales and tags

The `list_i18n_languages` tool maps target regions for complex repository audits. One agent queries it to understand the locales, while another runs `search_filtered_locale` to verify that the French content matches the English structure. If they find a discrepancy, they dig deeper. They use `list_global_tags` to check taxonomy consistency across regions. You watch them negotiate the differences and output a precise list of missing translations.

Investigate specific document histories

The `get_query_form_schema` tool helps debugging agents understand expected query formats. Sometimes a single page breaks the site layout. Using this MCP server, an agent calls it, then uses `get_document_by_id` to inspect the raw JSON of the broken page. A second agent reviews the raw output. It checks the references returned by `get_repo_metadata` to see if the master ref changed unexpectedly. They isolate the issue without you writing a single API request.

Setup guide

Set up Prismic MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Prismic tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Prismic_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Prismic data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Prismic MCP in AutoGen

Install `autogen-ext[mcp]`. Use `mcp_server_tools` with your transport parameters, then pass the resulting tool list into your `AssistantAgent` constructor.
Yes. Any agent in your conversation group with the tools attached can call `query_prismic_documents` or `list_custom_types` to gather evidence for their arguments.
The framework's `McpToolAdapter` automatically translates the server's tool schemas into formats your agents understand. You don't write custom wrappers.
They usually start broad. An agent calls `list_documents_by_tag`, reads the summaries, and then agrees with the group to fetch a specific record via `get_document_by_id`.
It accesses your repository's raw document JSON, custom types, and tags. The server operates ephemerally, meaning AutoGen only holds the data in memory during the conversation thread.
