Key Capabilities

Execute SQL in CI/CD Pipelines with Claude Code

You pipe any query to `execute_query` for headless execution. This is perfect for running nightly reports or validation checks inside a script. Since it's terminal-only, you can chain the output of StarRocks into another tool without needing a GUI or browser.

Manage Data Assets with Claude Code

Need to audit what exists? Start by listing all databases using `list_databases`. You can then script out loops that call `list_tables` and grab schemas using `get_table_schema` for every asset. The tool also lets you check materialized views with `list_mvs`, which is handy when auditing data pipelines.

Check StarRocks Resource Status from the CLI

Run `get_cluster_info` to verify node health without logging into a console. If you need storage metrics, `get_storage_usage` returns that count directly. It’s quick and dirty: call `list_nodes` or use `list_jobs` to get the current operational status of your StarRocks environment.

Common questions about StarRocks MCP in Claude Code

Just pass the SQL statement directly to `execute_query` as an argument. The terminal pipes back the results immediately, letting you script against that output.
Absolutely. Use the `list_jobs` tool to see all current and past jobs running in your system. This is key for debugging pipeline failures.
You can start with `list_databases` to narrow down the scope, then use `get_table_schema` on any target table. It gives you column names and types needed for scripting.
The best sequence is: 1) `list_databases` to find the scope. 2) Then run `list_tables` against that database name for a full inventory.
You can programmatically retrieve all schema details using `get_table_schema`. This confirms the exact structure and data types present on every table.
