Key Capabilities

Run Ad-Hoc Queries with Cline

Use `execute_query` to fire off any SQL query directly. You type the SELECT statement, and Cline sends it to StarRocks for results. It handles everything from simple aggregations to complex joins across your data sets. The output is displayed cleanly in the editor panel.

Inspect Database Structure via Cline

`list_databases` shows you every available database name right away. Need details? You can run `get_table_schema` for any table to see its column names and data types. Cline lets you explore the whole stack, too. Tools like `list_tables` and `list_views` map out exactly what lives inside a given database.

Monitor Cluster Health with Cline

You need to know if StarRocks is running right. Call `get_cluster_info` to get details on the frontend nodes immediately. Need usage numbers? `get_storage_usage` gives you a quick tally of how much data is stored. It also tracks jobs and resources, letting you run `list_nodes` or check out active materialized views with `list_mvs`.

Common questions about StarRocks MCP in Cline

Run the query first via `execute_query`. If it's slow, check the cluster status by calling `get_cluster_info` to see if there are node issues. You might need to adjust your SQL based on resource limitations.
Yes, you can use the `list_jobs` tool to see all scheduled and completed data load jobs. This confirms if data was successfully piped into your StarRocks environment.
Cline offers several views: you can list databases using `list_databases`, or check specific tables with `get_table_schema`. It provides a complete map of your data assets.
Sure thing. First, use `list_databases` to pick a database name. Then, run `list_tables` against that specific database to get an exhaustive list of every table.
The MCP Server exposes the full structure of your schema via `get_table_schema`. This lets you confirm exactly which columns and data types are being used for sensitive information.
