Debate security via Acunetix 360

Give your agents `list_vulnerabilities` so they can argue about risk levels. One agent flags a bug, while another evaluates the business impact of that vulnerability. This consensus-driven approach filters out noise. You get a negotiated security decision instead of a single, potentially biased analysis.

Coordinate scans with AutoGen agents

Use `launch_scan` to let your agents decide when to test a target. The agents discuss if a scan is safe to run or if it might impact performance. Your agents manage the scan queue based on their internal priorities. It’s an autonomous way to handle security testing during your development cycle.

Audit scan logs in AutoGen

The agents use `list_scans` to review the security timeline. They can challenge each other on why a scan failed or why a specific vulnerability remains open. This deliberation process uncovers gaps in your security coverage. Your agents work together to ensure no scan is left unreviewed.

Setup guide

Set up Acunetix 360 MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes Acunetix 360 tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="Acunetix 360_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent Acunetix 360 data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about Acunetix 360 MCP in AutoGen

Pass the tool list generated by the McpToolAdapter to your AssistantAgent. Your AutoGen setup will then allow agents to call the server as part of their conversation.
That is the point. Using Acunetix 360 tools, your agents can debate the severity of a vulnerability until they reach a consensus that satisfies your security policies.
It supports both stdio and HTTP transports. You can configure your AutoGen agents to communicate with the server using whichever method fits your architecture.
You define the tool list passed to the AssistantAgent. By controlling which tools are available to which agent, you enforce clear boundaries on who can trigger a scan.
All vulnerability data shared between agents is handled locally by your orchestration logic. The server only returns specific scan records, ensuring your security data remains private within your agent pool.
