Kick off document parsing from your app

Let users submit documents for AI extraction right from your web app. Your code calls `upload_document_from_url`, and AlgoDocs gets to work parsing the file. You can then immediately use `get_document_status` to show them the job is running. The whole process is asynchronous. Your UI stays responsive while the backend handles the heavy lifting. This setup means your user isn't stuck waiting for a page to load after submitting a big PDF; they see progress, not a frozen screen.

Show real-time extraction results

The Vercel AI SDK streams tool results directly into your React or Svelte components. When your agent calls `get_document_data`, the parsed fields appear on the user's screen one by one. It’s a much better experience than waiting for a giant JSON blob to finish loading. You can build UIs that feel alive. As AlgoDocs extracts names, dates, and invoice totals, your frontend renders them instantly. This gives users immediate feedback that the extraction is working correctly, right inside your product.

Manage documents with your MCP Server

This isn't just about one-off parsing. Your app can manage entire collections of documents. Use `list_folders` and `get_folder_details` to build a file-browser interface, and `list_recent_documents` to show users what they've worked on lately. You can even check on your usage or account status programmatically with `get_api_usage` and `get_my_account`. This MCP Server gives you the tools to build a full-featured document management front-end, not just a simple submission form.

Setup guide

Set up AlgoDocs MCP in Vercel AI SDK

Prerequisites

  • Node.js 18+ and a TypeScript project
  • ai + @modelcontextprotocol/sdk packages
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install dependencies

    Run npm install ai @modelcontextprotocol/sdk plus your preferred model provider (e.g. @ai-sdk/openai).

  2. 2

    Create the Streamable HTTP transport

    Use StreamableHTTPClientTransport with your Vinkius endpoint URL. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Discover and use tools

    Call mcpClient.tools() to auto-discover all AlgoDocs tools. Pass them directly to generateText() or streamText() — no manual schema definitions needed.

  4. 4

    Works with any model provider

    Swap openai("gpt-4o") for any AI SDK provider — Anthropic, Google, Mistral. The MCP tools work identically across all supported models.

index.ts
import { experimental_createMCPClient as createMCPClient } from "ai";
import { StreamableHTTPClientTransport } from "@modelcontextprotocol/sdk/client/streamableHttp";
import { generateText } from "ai";
import { openai } from "@ai-sdk/openai";

const transport = new StreamableHTTPClientTransport(
  new URL("https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp")
);

const mcpClient = await createMCPClient({ transport });
const tools = await mcpClient.tools();

const { text } = await generateText({
  model: openai("gpt-4o"),
  tools,
  prompt: "List recent AlgoDocs transactions",
});

console.log(text);
await mcpClient.close();

Common questions about AlgoDocs MCP in Vercel AI SDK

After you trigger a job with `upload_document_from_url`, poll the `get_document_status` tool. The Vercel AI SDK lets you stream this status directly to your UI, so you can update a progress bar or status message in real time.
Yes. Use the `list_folders` tool to get all the folders, then display them in your app. When a user clicks a folder, call `get_folder_details` to show its specific contents. It's a straightforward way to build a file navigation experience.
Use the `streamText` function from the Vercel AI SDK with the `get_document_data` tool. This streams the parsed data directly into your React Server Components or client components, letting you display results as they arrive.
Just call the `get_api_usage` tool. It returns your current usage stats, which you can then display on an account or dashboard page within your app.
The AlgoDocs server only processes the document content you submit via URL. Vinkius secures the connection with an ephemeral token, and the server itself runs in a zero-trust sandbox. Your original documents and parsed data are not stored long-term.
