Multi-agent MCP Server parsing

Complex document processing often requires verification. You can set up one AutoGen agent to trigger `upload_document_from_url` while a separate quality-control agent monitors the progress. The first agent insists the job is done. The QC agent runs `get_document_status` to verify, pushing back if the file is still processing. They negotiate the exact moment to pull the final text, preventing premature data reads.

Consensus on batch extractions

Pulling massive amounts of parsed data requires careful handling. A data-retrieval agent calls `list_extractor_data` to dump bulk results into the shared chat context. An analysis agent then reviews that data against expected schemas. If something looks wrong, it might instruct a third agent to check `list_folders` and `list_recent_documents` to find where the pipeline failed.

Resource management debates

API limits cause system failures when ignored. Your system can include a dedicated infrastructure agent that constantly checks `get_api_usage` and `get_my_account`. When the primary extraction agent tries to process a massive batch of PDFs, the infrastructure agent steps in. It forces a pause if quotas are low, ensuring your team doesn't burn through the monthly allowance in one hour.

Setup guide

Set up AlgoDocs MCP in AutoGen

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • autogen-ext[mcp] package
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install AutoGen with MCP

    Run pip install "autogen-ext[mcp]" autogen-agentchat. The MCP extension includes mcp_server_tools for stateless tool access.

  2. 2

    Fetch tools from the MCP

    Call mcp_server_tools(SseServerParams(url=...)) with your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Run your agent

    Pass the tools to AssistantAgent and call agent.run(). The agent invokes AlgoDocs tools and returns structured results.

agent.py
from autogen_ext.tools.mcp import SseServerParams, mcp_server_tools
from autogen_agentchat.agents import AssistantAgent
from autogen_ext.models.openai import OpenAIChatCompletionClient

server_params = SseServerParams(
    url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)

tools = await mcp_server_tools(server_params)

agent = AssistantAgent(
    name="AlgoDocs_assistant",
    model_client=OpenAIChatCompletionClient(model="gpt-4o"),
    tools=tools,
)

result = await agent.run("List recent AlgoDocs data")
print(result.messages[-1].content)

Common questions about AlgoDocs MCP in AutoGen

Install `autogen-ext[mcp]` and use `mcp_server_tools` with the Vinkius URL. The adapter handles all schema conversions before you pass the tools to your `AssistantAgent`.
Yes. You hand the tool list to any agent in the chat. A planner agent can check extractors while an executor agent handles the actual uploads.
The agent receives the error from `get_document_data`. It can then discuss the failure with a debugging agent to decide whether to retry the upload or alert a human.
They run `list_extractors` to see the active models. The group can then debate which specific model is best suited for the incoming image or Word file.
Every tool call executes within a zero-trust V8 Isolate Sandbox. When your agents pull sensitive PDF text or image data into their conversation, the connection remains entirely ephemeral and leaves no trace on the host network.
