Review test batches inside Claude Desktop

Visual testing generates massive amounts of data when you push a UI update. Digging through web dashboards to find which specific tests failed wastes time. You just want the summary statistics so you know if a build is actually broken or if it caught expected changes. Your AI agent handles this by running `list_batches` to grab recent test runs. Once it spots a failure, it pulls the exact numbers using `get_batch_stats`. You see exactly how many tests passed, failed, or remain unresolved without leaving your chat window.

Manage visual baselines via MCP Server

UI redesigns intentionally break visual tests. When you ship a new navigation bar, every single page baseline becomes outdated instantly. Manually accepting these changes across hundreds of tests is tedious work that nobody enjoys doing. Claude can do the cleanup for you. It checks current visual states with `list_baselines` and compares them against specific git branches using `list_branch_baselines`. When you confirm the new design is correct, the agent clears out the old reference images via `delete_baseline`.

Deep dive into specific session failures

Sometimes an Applitools batch fails because of one flaky test environment. You need to know exactly which operating system or browser combination caused the visual mismatch. Grabbing that specific session data usually means clicking through multiple nested menus. Pass the batch ID to your AI client, and it pulls the exact test details using `get_session`. If things look completely wrong and the run is garbage, you can even have it wipe the entire record with `delete_batch`.

Common questions about Applitools MCP in Claude Desktop

Open your `claude_desktop_config.json` file. Add the Applitools MCP server details under the `mcpServers` key, save, and restart the application.
Yes. The agent pulls detailed test outcomes using the `list_results` tool. You get immediate feedback on UI mismatches directly in your conversation.
Your agent will let you know it cannot reach the API. You can ask it to run the `validate_key` tool to check if your credentials expired or if the network dropped.
Not directly through a single approve command. You manage the state by reviewing changes and using `delete_baseline` to remove outdated reference images when a UI update is intentional.
Vinkius isolates this connection in a V8 sandbox. The Applitools MCP Server only accesses your test batch metadata, baseline IDs, and pass/fail statistics. We destroy the execution environment immediately after the query finishes, leaving zero trace of your QA data.
