How to Use the Aspose.Words MCP in CrewAI
Equip your CrewAI agents with Aspose.Words tools to autonomously manage, edit, and secure documents as a team.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Aspose.Words MCP to CrewAI
Create your Vinkius account to connect Aspose.Words to CrewAI and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Delegate Document Tasks to a Crew
This MCP server provides the specialized tools your CrewAI agents need to work together on document tasks. You can create a 'Researcher' agent that uses `list_cloud_files` to find all quarterly reports. It then passes that list to an 'Editor' agent. The 'Editor' agent's job is to loop through the files, using `replace_text_in_document` to update the year and quarter. Finally, a 'Security' agent takes the updated files and applies a password using `protect_document`. Each agent has a clear role, and this server gives them the exact functions to do their job.
Build an Autonomous Review Team
Set up a crew for monitoring and compliance. A 'Watcher' agent can run periodically, using `get_document_statistics` to see if key documents have changed. If a change is detected, it assigns the document to a 'Reviewer' agent. The 'Reviewer' can `render_document_page` for specific pages and analyze the content. If it finds something that violates a policy, it can either use `add_watermark` to flag the document for human review or hand it off to a 'Remediation' agent to take further action. It’s a fully autonomous content moderation pipeline.
Run a Document Conversion Assembly Line
Spin up a team of agents for large-scale conversion tasks. A 'Coordinator' agent can get a list of hundreds of DOCX files that need to be turned into PDFs. It then delegates the work to a pool of 'Converter' agents. Each 'Converter' agent takes one file, calls the `convert_document` tool from this MCP server, and reports back when done. Because CrewAI can run these agents in parallel, you can process a huge number of documents much faster than doing it one by one. This is how you scale document operations.
Set up Aspose.Words MCP in CrewAI
Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+ installed
-
crewaipackage (pip install crewai) - Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Install CrewAI
Run
pip install crewaito install the framework. MCP support is built-in via themcpsparameter. - 2
Add the MCP URL to your agent
Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the
mcpslist. Replace[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically. - 3
Kick off your crew
Create a
Crewwith your agent and tasks. Callcrew.kickoff()— the agent will automatically invoke Aspose.Words tools as needed.
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew
agent = Agent(
role="Aspose.Words Analyst",
goal="Access and analyze Aspose.Words data via MCP.",
backstory="Expert analyst with direct Aspose.Words access.",
mcps=[
"https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
],
)
task = Task(
description="List recent Aspose.Words transactions",
agent=agent,
expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)
crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result) Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+ installed
-
crewai+crewai-toolspackages - Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Install dependencies
Run
pip install crewai crewai-tools. TheMCPServerAdapterhandles lifecycle management and tool conversion. - 2
Connect with MCPServerAdapter
Use
MCPServerAdapteras a context manager withSseServerParameterspointing to your Vinkius endpoint. The adapter automatically manages connection lifecycle. - 3
Assign tools and run
Pass the returned
mcp_toolsto your agent'stoolsparameter. The adapter converts MCP tools to nativeBaseToolobjects compatible with all CrewAI agents.
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew
from crewai_tools import MCPServerAdapter
from mcp import SseServerParameters
