How to Use the Clio MCP in Cursor
Build legal automation tools in Cursor. Pull Clio data directly into your code to create custom dashboards and automated workflows.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Clio MCP to Cursor
Create your Vinkius account to connect Clio to Cursor and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Query Clio data within Cursor
Stop using mock data for your legal apps. Use `list_matters` or `list_contacts` to feed real-time firm records into your development environment while you write code. The AI can read your documentation and apply the correct API parameters from `get_matter` or `get_contact`. This ensures your code functions correctly against the actual Clio production environment.
Automate legal tasks in Cursor
Build scripts that handle repetitive work by calling `create_task` or `create_activity` through your editor. You can program your agent to log time entries automatically after it finishes a coding task. Use `create_note` to document logic changes inside the relevant legal matter. Your code now reflects the actual state of your practice management platform.
Monitor case lifecycles in Cursor
Map out your firm's workflow by pulling stage information with `list_matter_stages`. This helps you build logic that triggers actions based on whether a case is in intake or trial. Filter results with `list_matters` to target specific statuses. Your code becomes a living extension of your legal operations.
