How to Use the Datadog MCP in Cline

Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect Datadog MCP to Cline
Create your Vinkius account to connect Datadog to Cline and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Build live Datadog dashboards inside VS Code with Cline
Cline builds frontend components using real production Datadog metrics. It calls `get_dashboard` to inspect your current layout, then writes React code that mirrors your cloud infrastructure state. The Cline agent uses `list_metrics` to verify the exact telemetry keys before writing the fetch requests. You get a working UI component that connects directly to your live Datadog environment.
Autonomous incident patching with Cline and Datadog
When a Datadog alert fires, Cline steps in to find the root cause. It runs `get_incident` to understand the severity and searches for the exact error trace using `search_logs`. This MCP Server allows Cline to write a hotfix, run your local test suite, and stage the Git commit. You just review the diff in VS Code and push.
Datadog monitor management directly in your sidebar
Manage your Datadog alert thresholds without opening a browser tab. Cline uses `search_monitors` to locate noisy alerts and updates them using `mute_monitor` during deployments. The Cline agent checks the status of your alerts using `list_monitors` over this MCP connection to ensure your staging environment isn't triggering pager alerts. Everything happens inside your VS Code sidebar.
