Connect edX MCP to Windsurf
Create your Vinkius account to connect edX to Windsurf and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Search and filter courses instantly
Cascade uses `search_courses` to query the entire platform catalog based on your specific technical requirements. It instantly parses results to filter by level, organization, or subject matter. Once it identifies relevant matches, it presents the course titles and enrollment links directly in your chat. You skip the manual browsing and get right to the data.
Get granular course metadata
When you need specific details, Cascade triggers `get_course` to pull exact prerequisites, pacing, and effort estimates. It knows exactly what information to grab to help you evaluate a syllabus. This tool returns structured data that Windsurf uses to build context for your project. You see exactly what you are signing up for before you ever leave the IDE.
Discover scheduled offerings
Cascade calls `get_course_runs` to check the current status of any class, including upcoming or archived sessions. It handles the API requests to ensure you only see active enrollment options. This ensures your agentic workflow remains accurate and tied to real-world dates. You avoid outdated information by relying on live telemetry from the platform.
