Script Physical Locations and Tags

`create_physical_location` registers new venues using street addresses and coordinates straight from your command line. Claude Code runs this in the background, outputting only the new location IDs you need for your deployment scripts. To organize the hardware, the agent runs `assign_tag_to_beacon` across your unmapped MAC addresses. Pipe a list of inventory IDs into the terminal, and Claude Code tags them for the correct retail floor.

Monitor Sensor Telemetry via CLI

`get_beacon_telemetry` extracts temperature, motion, and light sensor data from the physical hardware. Schedule Claude Code to run this via cron job and alert you if a warehouse beacon detects abnormal heat. For deeper diagnostics, `get_beacon_details` pulls the complete device shadow. The agent checks the current broadcasting power and battery life, so you catch failing hardware before it drops offline.

Automate the Estimote MCP Server

`get_device_analytics` fetches foot traffic counts and dwell times over specific date ranges. Claude Code pulls this data headless and pipes the raw JSON directly into your reporting database. When hardware fails, `remove_beacon_device` permanently deletes the unit from your cloud account. The agent handles the teardown process automatically so your active fleet registry stays clean.

Setup guide

Set up Estimote MCP in Claude Code

Prerequisites

  • Claude Code CLI installed (npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Run the add command

Open your terminal and run the command shown on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com. Use --scope user to make it available across all projects.

  2. 2

    Verify the connection

Start a Claude Code session and type /mcp to list connected servers. You should see estimote-mcp with a green status indicator.

  3. 3

    Start using tools

Ask Claude Code something like "Check my latest Estimote transactions." It will automatically discover and invoke the available Estimote tools.

Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http estimote-mcp https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp

Common questions about Estimote MCP in Claude Code

Run `claude mcp add --transport http estimote -- ` in your terminal. Ensure all flags precede the server name. Verify the connection by typing `claude mcp list`.
Yes. The agent uses `list_beacon_devices` to return your entire inventory. It outputs MAC addresses, hardware types, and battery levels directly to standard output.
It calls `update_beacon_settings` to modify the cloud shadow for transmission power and intervals. Keep in mind these changes only sync when a mobile device connects to the physical beacon.
Run a prompt asking for your taxonomy, and the agent executes `list_fleet_tags`. It returns names and device counts so you know exactly how your fleet is grouped before making changes.
The tool fetches raw MAC addresses, hardware identifiers, and telemetry readings during execution. Claude Code processes this data locally in your terminal session. It does not cache your hardware registry after the process terminates.
