Execute terminal-only expense exports

The `export_expense_data` tool lets you extract financial records directly to your terminal standard output using Claude Code. You can pipe this data into local scripts, grep for specific transactions, or redirect the output to a local CSV. This terminal-first approach is built for speed. Claude Code executes the export command, processes the raw data, and lets you manipulate the results without opening a browser.

Audit corporate users and roles via this MCP Server

The `list_expensya_users` tool pulls your organization's user roster directly into your active terminal shell. Claude Code uses this list to verify access permissions, flag inactive accounts, or cross-reference employee lists against local databases. Connecting this MCP Server to your terminal lets you run quick audits. You can ask Claude Code to find users who haven't submitted expenses recently by joining this list with active transaction data.

Script automated expense creation in Claude Code

The `create_new_expense` tool allows you to log business transactions directly from your command line. Claude Code prompts you for the amount, currency, and category, then submits the record instantly without any GUI overhead. You can integrate this tool into your local shell scripts or deployment pipelines. Claude Code runs the command, verifies the submission status, and outputs the confirmation ID directly to your terminal.

Common questions about Expensya MCP in Claude Code

Run the command `claude mcp add --transport http expensya-mcp -- ` in your terminal. Make sure to put your transport flags before the server name, and verify the connection with `claude mcp list`.
Yes, you can ask Claude Code to call `list_expense_reports` to search for specific folders. It outputs the list directly to your terminal, allowing you to filter the results using standard shell tools.
Claude Code calls `list_analytical_projects` to display active tracking codes in your console. You can then instruct the CLI agent to associate new expenses with these project IDs.
Yes, because Claude Code runs entirely in the terminal, you can script it to run queries like `list_expenses` during build steps or cron jobs to monitor team spending.
Your session tokens and sensitive expense details are isolated within a secure, ephemeral V8 sandbox. Vinkius handles the authentication handshake, ensuring your credentials are never exposed in terminal history or shell logs.
