Autonomous Flock monitoring crews

Assign a monitor agent to fetch messages using `chat_fetch_messages`. It watches for specific triggers and hands off to a responder. Your crew works around the clock. They handle the noise so you don't have to.

Role-based Flock channel moderation

Use `channels_list_public` to identify active rooms. A moderator agent can then call `channels_get_info` to understand the room's purpose. It keeps your workspace organized. The agents verify the context before they take action.

Verified Flock group escalation

The escalation agent queries `groups_list_members` to find who is on-call. It identifies the correct target and sends the alert via `chat_send_message`. It removes human latency. The agent routes the information to the right person in seconds.

Setup guide

Set up Flock MCP in CrewAI

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • crewai package (pip install crewai)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install CrewAI

    Run pip install crewai to install the framework. MCP support is built-in via the mcps parameter.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP URL to your agent

    Pass your Vinkius endpoint directly to the mcps list. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. CrewAI handles tool discovery and caching automatically.

  3. 3

    Kick off your crew

    Create a Crew with your agent and tasks. Call crew.kickoff() — the agent will automatically invoke Flock tools as needed.

crew.py
from crewai import Agent, Task, Crew

agent = Agent(
    role="Flock Analyst",
    goal="Access and analyze Flock data via MCP.",
    backstory="Expert analyst with direct Flock access.",
    mcps=[
        "https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    ],
)

task = Task(
    description="List recent Flock transactions",
    agent=agent,
    expected_output="A summary of recent activity",
)

crew = Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task])
result = crew.kickoff()
print(result)

Common questions about Flock MCP in CrewAI

Agents check `groups_list_private` to ensure they have access before attempting to read sensitive data. It acts as a gatekeeper for your private groups.
They can. An agent uses `roster_list_directory` to map names to IDs. This allows the crew to ping specific users during an incident.
The server restricts access to identity metadata. It only exposes what the agent needs to identify a user, keeping personal details out of the crew's memory.
Yes. You share the server tools across your crew. One agent handles the lookup, another handles the messaging, and the third monitors the status.
You use the tool_filter in the MCP configuration. It restricts which agents can call sensitive tools like `groups_list_private` or `chat_send_message`.
